In its heyday, Motown Records was not
only home to an enormously rich group of recording artists but also
to a profuse collection of songwriters whose output helped define the
glorious era of 1960’s and 1970’s.
Much of the Motown music from that period was referred to as
‘The Sound Of Young America’ and three of its leading creators
formed the songwriting team of Holland/Dozier/Holland
namely Brian Holland, his brother Eddie and their
collaborative partner Lamont Dozier.
Both Eddie and Lamont had started out
forging singing careers while Brian
while Brian was honing his talents
a songwriter and arranger.
