Little Richard died on May 9, 2020.
On Twitter, Bob Dylan wrote: “I just heard the news about Little Richard
and I’m so grieved. He was my shining star and guiding light back
when I was only a little boy. His was the original spirit that moved
me to do everything I would do.”
Born in Macon, Georgia, flamboyant singer/songwriter/pianist
Little Richard aka Richard Penniman (1932-2020) was one of
the true originators of rock ‘n’ roll.
.
He influenced a whole generation of rock musicians from
The Beatles to James Brown and from Elton John to Prince.
Following are six of the outstanding songs
with which he’ll be remembered forever.
